United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829, IATSE is accepting applications for a Business Representative for Safety and Scene Shops, based in New York City.
This role has a strong focus on workplace safety and health in the entertainment industry, including scene shops, theaters, opera companies, and other covered worksites.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting site visits to investigate safety concerns
- Responding to workplace safety issues
- Interpreting safety regulations for members
- Reviewing environmental reports
- Developing safety communications, resources, and trainings
- Supporting contract administration and safety-related worksite visits
Ideal candidates will have strong communication and project management skills, industrial hygiene or similar safety training, and knowledge of workplace safety regulations. OSHA, ETCP, or other professional safety certifications are strongly preferred.
Union membership, theater/live performance, motion picture/television, labor, or entertainment industry experience is preferred.
Salary range: $95,000–$115,000/year, commensurate with experience and certifications, plus an excellent benefits package.
