Hard Hats. Big Hearts. Supporting Suicide Prevention.

04/21/2026

Join the Largest Construction Hike for Hope in the Country this Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Bear Mountain, NY.

Every year, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention organizes the Construction Hike for Hope at Bear Mountain, and the ASSP Hudson Valley Chapter proudly supports this event.

The Construction Hike for Hope brings together construction workers, families, and supporters to raise awareness and support mental health in an industry with the highest suicide rates in the U.S.

The event has already raised $195,269 toward its $225,000 goal, building on last year’s event that brought together 600 people and raised $120,000.

Bear Mountain may not be the most convenient location, and that is part of what makes it meaningful. With limited cell service and fewer distractions, it offers a rare chance to unplug and reconnect—with yourself, with others, and with nature. Taking care of your mental health is not always easy or convenient, but it is always worth it.
